Solok Selatan – Empowerment of the unemployed community in the industrial era 4.0 as it is today is the responsibility of the nation and an important part that must be solved together. Based on data, the population in Sangir sub-district is 41,798. With an area of 632.99 km2 and a geographic location of 01 17 ‘ 13 ” – 01 46’ 45 ” South Latitude and 100 53 ‘ 24 ” – 101 26’27 ” East Longitude. Especially the people in Jorong Bukit Malintang Barat have more than 350 families who generally work as farmers and garden workers. To support these community activities, a vehicle is needed, one of the most common and widely used by people in Jorong Bukit Malintang Barat is a motorcycle. Motorcycles as a helper for community activities in carrying out daily activities, namely farming and gardening.
Motorcycles that are used every day must of course be in good condition, require maintenance so that they are always in standard conditions and are safe to use, therefore motorcycle repair services are needed. Motorcycle repair services are a favorite service area for consumers who provide and provide solutions to problems that exist on motorbikes, both in the form of routine maintenance, light service, heavy service and also modifications. This situation makes it possible for the community to be taken as a place and new entrepreneurial opportunity for the motorcycle repair business.
Observations and in-depth interviews conducted by the proposer with the Wali Nagari and the local guardian jorong show that 30% – 40% of the community are still unemployed or have not found permanent jobs. This is important to note because most of them are young people of productive age. One of the solutions carried out by the Automotive Engineering Department PKM team to reduce joblessness is to provide training that produces knowledge and skills for work. This training activity answers one of the needs of the unemployed community in Jorong Bukit Malintang Barat Nagari Lubuk Gadang, Sangir District, South Solok Regency, which requires knowledge and skills. The focus of the PKM team of the Automotive Engineering Department is to empower the unemployed community in Jorong through entrepreneurship training in the motorcycle repair business. This solution was chosen because of the high use of motorcycles in this area. In addition, there are very few motorcycle repair shops in this area or additional workshops are still needed, but because of the limited knowledge and skills of the community.
PKM was held at the Village Hall of Jorong Bukit Malintang Barat Nagari Lubuk Gadang Sangir District, South Solok Regency. PKM was opened by representatives of Nagari and Jorong Mayors. The training participants who participated in the training found 20 people who were the Tunakarya community in Jorong Bukit Malintang Barat. PKM will be held for 4 days from 27 July 2022 to 30 July 2022 at the Jorong Bukit Malintang West Village Hall.

Based on the results of observations during the training activities that have been carried out. It is known that the knowledge and skills of the trainees have increased. Prior to the training, all training participants did not have good knowledge and skills about motorcycle repair business entrepreneurs. After being given training with material and practice directly to the trainees. In general, it can be concluded that there was an increase in the knowledge and skills of the trainees. Thus increasing the motivation, interest, willingness and spirit of the soul to become a motorcycle repair business entrepreneur by the trainees.
